TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Rio das Velhas, Lagoa Santa .

DISTRIBUTION: EC Brazil.

COMMENTS: Arranged as a subspecies of C. laucha by Hershkovitz (1962), but others have retained tener , along with C. laucha , as distinct species (Cabrera, 1961; Mares et al., 1989a; Moojen, 1952), which suggests the need for further study of their level of differentiation.
