TYPE LOCALITY: Malaysia, Sabah (N Borneo), Kinabalu .

DISTRIBUTION: Gunung Kinabalu and Gunung Trus Madi in Sabah; W mountain chain of Sumatra.

SYNONYMS: atchinus .

COMMENTS: A montane species related to S. muelleri , which occurs at middle elevations and lowlands.
