TYPE LOCALITY: Papua New Guinea, Central Prov., lower Kemp Welch River, Ighibirei (see Thomas, 1897a:4) .

DISTRIBUTION: New Guinea; known only from mainland of SE Papua New Guinea, sea level to 2300 m (see maps in Dennis and Menzies, 1979; Flannery, 1990b).

SYNONYMS: kagi.
