TYPE LOCALITY: South Africa, E Cape Prov., Graaff Reinet Dist .
DISTRIBUTION: South Africa (Cape Prov., Orange Free State, SW Transvaal), S Botswana, Namibia, and SW Angola (see map in Skinner and Smithers, 1990:303).
SYNONYMS: damarensis , egeria , fryi, harveyi, kalaharicus, molopensis.
COMMENTS: Species is now absent from Natal in South Africa but was present up to about 60,000 years ago ( Avery, 1991).
