Material examined

1♀, Saudi Arabia, Rawdhat Khoreim (25.38305°N, 47.27833°E), altitude 572 m, 27 August 2012 (leg. Fadl), on Nitraria retusa (KSMA).

Unknown.

Distribution

Tunisia ( Ruschka 1924; Heraty 2002), Israel ( Masi 1949; Bouček 1956). Saudi Arabia (new record).

Notes

This specimen agrees very well with Ruschka ’ s description (1924). It closely resembles Eucharis bytinskisalzi but differs as follows: mesosoma shiny black to dark bluish metallic with slight green reflection ( Figure 7 View Figure 7 b) (dark metallic green in E. bytinskisalzi ); metasoma entirely peach-red in colour ( Figure 7 View Figure 7 a) (in E. bytinskisalzi base of Gt1 distinctly dark brown); club of antenna with irregularly rounded end ( Figure 7 View Figure 7 a) (more regularly rounded in E. bytinskisalzi ); median scutellar sulcus linear anteriorly and widened posteriorly (regular and foveolate along the whole length of scutellum in E. bytinskisalzi ); mesosoma with finer and sparser punctures leaving smooth ( Figure 7 View Figure 7 b) (coarser and closer in E. bytinskisalzi ).
