Subgenus Premicrodispus Cross, 1965

Type species: Microdispus (Premicrodispus) chandleri Cross, 1965 , by original designation

The latest diagnosis of the genus was provided by Khaustov (2006). The genus Premicrodispus comprises three subgenera, Premicrodispus Cross, 1965 , Premicrodispulus Khaustov & Chydyrov, 2010 and Premicrodispoides Khaustov and Maslov, 2013 . The subgenera Premicrodispulus and Premicrodispoides are monotypic and distributed in Palaearctic ( Khaustov & Maslov 2013). The cosmopolitan subgenus Premicrodispus includes about 31 species ( Badoodam et al. 2015; Badoodam et al. 2015; Khaustov & Frolov 2018) found primarily in soil and forest litter, some species are phoretic on scarab beetles ( Khaustov & Frolov 2018). Previously only one species, Premicrodispus lambi ( Krczal, 1964) was recorded from New Zealand ( Khaustov & Minor 2016).
