Local distribution. ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 , Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ).

Geographical distribution. GoM: Monroe Country, Key Largo, Florida; Caribbean Sea: Puerto Morelos Reef National Park , Quintana Roo .

Recognition characters. Body asymmetrical; rostrum pointed with crenulated margin; dorsal surface of carapace, first joint of antennular peduncle and chelipeds finely granulate; chelipeds unequal. Male right cheliped greatly enlarged than in female.

Remarks. This species has its geographical range extended to the southeastern portion of the GoM ( Mexico). It occurs the zone between 0 and 100 m perpendicular to the shoreline. It inhabits alga turf Yuzurua poiteaui (J.V.Lamouroux) Martin-Lescanne and among seagrasses ( T. testudinum ); it is also common to find it climbing in mounds formed by the calcareous red algae Jania rubens (Linnaeus) J.V.Lamouroux , in the coral Porites divaricata Le Sueur , under rocks, sponges, gravel and coarse sand, at depths 0.1 to 1.5 m. It is a detritivorous species. The species of Pagurapseudidae family mainly inhabits small gastropod shells which identity usually is unknown. The records of the shell’s identity, where known, was tabulated by Bird & Webber (2015) where, for instance, they mentioned that Macrolabrum maui Bird & Webber, 2015 , a New Zealand species, inhabits the shells of Eatoniella Dall , Merelina Iredale and Pisinna Monterosato.
