These specimens were collected in algae such as Asparagopsis Montagne , B. tenella , C. racemosa , Chondria dasyphylla (Woodward) C. Agardh , D. dichotoma , H. spinella , Sargassum natans (Linnaeus) Gaillon , Udotea , cnidaria such as P. guadalupensis , in barnacle tests such as Amphibalanus amphitrite (Darwin) , coral rubble, plastic rope and wood. The abundance of females and males was not recorded for this species.

Local distribution. Consult Cházaro-Olvera et al. (2018).

Geographical distribution. Atlantic Ocean: southern Florida; GoM: western Florida; Caribbean Sea: Puerto Morelos Reef National Park, Quintana Roo, Caiman Islands, Puerto Vargas, Costa Rica; Pacific Ocean: Murcielago Islands, Costa Rica.

Recognition characters. Female: antennule short with the first article wider than long; cephalothorax without demarcation of the second thoracomere; uropod endopod with three articles. Male: eyes bigger than females; antennule with 10–11 articles, with aesthetasc bundles throughout the entire flagellum (except the terminal article); chela carpo-chelate (hook form), with an underdeveloped, or lacking, carpal process.

Remarks. This species occurs in association with sponges such as I. birotulata , Desmapsamma anchorata (Carter) , mangrove roots, algae, seagrass such as T. testudinum , coral rubble.
