TYPE DEPOSITORY: Department of Medical Zoology, School of Tropical Medicine, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Rattus norvegicus [Animalia: Muridae ].
NOTE: Ryke (1961) transferred this species to Cyrtolaelaps (Digamasellus) , without providing any explanation for the change. We cannot exclude the possibility that this species belongs to the Ascidae , but the available information is not adequate to place it in a genus.
