FEMALE

Gnathosoma. Anterior margin of epistome convex, denticulate. Seta h3 longer than h1, h2 and pc, which are similar in length; insertion of h2 slightly anterior to insertion of h3. With a single seta on palp trochanter, not elongate. Deutosternum moderately wide, with delimiting wavy lateral lines and seven rows of 5–11 denticles each. Corniculi 2–3 times as long as their basal widths, well separated from each other, subparallel. Cheliceral digits of similar lengths, not elongate; fixed digit usually with 6–8 teeth in addition to apical tooth; movable digit with 2–3 teeth in addition to apical tooth.

Idiosoma. Oval. Dorsum: dorsal shield lightly punctate, without distinct lateral incisions or delineated strip along lateral margins; anterior end of dorsal shield not strongly deflexed. No supernumerary setae on dorsal shield. Podonotal region of shield with ten pairs of setae. Opisthonotal region of shield with five pairs of setae. Unsclerotised lateral cuticle with five pairs of setae, including r3, which is similar to neighbouring setae; UR setae absent. Dorsal and lateral setae of idiosoma varying from minute to small, the longest being j6, acicular and smooth. Venter: presternal platelets absent. Sternal shield with two pairs of setae of similar lengths (st1–st2); posterior shield margin undulate; lyrifissure iv3 absent. Setae st3 and st4 inserted on unsclerotised cuticle. Genital shield usually not wide enough to include iv5, but including st5; posterior margin convex. With a pair of elongate metapodal plates. Without sclerotised line or platelets between genital and anal shields. Opisthogaster with three pairs of setae on unsclerotised cuticle, in addition to circumanal setae; anal shield semicircular; para-anal setae inserted at level of anterior margin of anal opening, about twice as long as post-anal seta; the latter not stout. Anal opening small (1/4 of shield length), near shield centre. Endopodal shield greatly reduced along sternal shield, leaving a wide band of unsclerotised cuticle between narrow sternal shield and coxae; represented by a section fused with sternal shield in region between coxae I–II and by an independent platelet between coxae III–IV. Exopodal shield indistinct.

Peritreme. Absent. Stigma at level of anterior third of coxa IV. Peritrematic shield represented by a platelet immediately behind r3 and bearing a lyrifissure and a pore (respectively ip1 and gp of Seeman (2012), corresponding to ip1 and gp2 of Lindquist & Moraza (2009)).

Legs. Median section of pulvilli of legs I–IV rounded. Setation of legs I–IV, femur: 10, 9, 6, 6; genu: 8, 6, 6, 6; tibia: 8, 7, 7, 7. Leg II not distinctly different from other legs. Legs without elongate setae, but femur and genu of legs I–IV with some setae distinctly stouter and longer than others; femur II and tarsi II and III with few blunt and stout setae; tarsi II–IV with pd1 longer than ad1, but not elongate.

Spermathecal apparatus. Phytoseiid-type.

MALE

Fixed cheliceral digit similar to female; movable digit with one tooth in addition to apical tooth; spermatodactyl almost twice as long as movable digit, directed forward, tapering, curved distally. Idiosomal dorsal setation similar to female. Without presternal platelets. Sternogenital shield with four pairs of setae (st1–st3, st5; st4 on unsclerotised cuticle), not fused with ventrianal shield, posterior margin convex. Ventrianal shield ovoid, relatively small, anteriorly eroded, bearing only setae Jv 2 in addition to circumanal setae. Endopodal shield represented only by sections between coxae I–II and III–IV, fused with sternogenital shield. Peritreme absent. Legs as in female.
