Remarks. The material examined from Hong Kong and south China is very constant in markings, with prothorax entirely brown and no pale stripe on the metepisternum. The sizes of all examined Chinese specimens fall in the ranges given for males by Wilson (1997): abdomen plus appendages 31–36 mm and Hw 21–25 mm. Of the specimens from Vietnam, that from Tay Thien also has an entirely brown prothorax and no stripe on the metepisternum, but those from Ba Vi have large yellowish lateral marks on the anterior pronotal lobe. The specimens from Vietnam are larger than those from China: Tay Thien male with abdomen plus anal appendages ca 37.5 mm, Hw 26.5 mm; Ba Vi males with abdomen plus anal appendages 42–42.5 mm, Hw 25–28 mm. All examined specimens have a robust subbasal spur on the paraprocts, clearly visible even in lateral view.
