Musca lucophaeus Harris, 1780: 34 .? HOLOTYPE: ♀, Great Britain, SE England (depository unknown); synonymized by PONT & MICHELSEN (1982: 43).

Note. The figure in the original publication shows a female from England. Harris’ collection is generally considered to have been destroyed ( PONT & MICHELSEN 1982: 26).

Musca lucopheus: HARRIS (1780: 34) . Incorrect original spelling (cf. PONT & MICHELSEN 1982: 36).

Musca leucophaeus: STEPHENS (1829: 311) . Incorrect subsequent spelling (see PONT & MICHELSEN 1982: 36).
