Holotype:— JAPAN. Kakushi Gotsu, Shimane prefecture, S. Miki [fruit receptacle] (Osaka Museum of Natural History F8270!, Osaka, Japan) – illustrated by Miki 1971: fig. 1, Aa; paratype [seeds] (Osaka Museum of Natural History, F8275!) – illustrated by Miki 1971: fig. 1, Af.

STATUS:—Fruits.

IFPNI: 79C53451-FC76-4852-8859-4E993DA5B3B5.

Note:—The fossil-species Cinnamomum macropodum Miki (1971: 234 , 246), nom. inval., was not validly published due the lack of holotype designation ( McNeill et al., 2012: Art. 40.1). Miki included leaves and fruits with seeds in his broad circumscription of the fossil-species. A new name is proposed for the distinctive fossil fruits with seeds (excluding doubtful leaves not found in organic connection with fruits/seeds).
