≡ Cinnamomum apiculatum Saporta (1889: 37 , pl. 4: fig. 7), nom. illeg. non Pilar (1883: 60).

Holotype:— FRANCE. Aix-en-Provence , Saporta s.n. [fruit receptacle] (Muséum national d’histoire naturelle, Paris, or Muséum d’histoire naturelle d’ Aix-en-provence, Aix-en-Provence, France, not located).

STATUS:—Fruits.

Note:—The fossil-species Cinnamomum apiculatum Saporta was based on a distinctive fossil fruit from the Oligocene sediments of Aix-en-Provence, France. However, it is a later homonym of the fossil-species C. apiculatum Pilar , which was established on the base of leaf remains from the Miocene sediments of the Balkan Peninsula (Dolje, Croatia).
