Revised diagnosis. Macropterous or micropterous; integument virtually glabrous, smooth; head elongate, antenniferous tubercle not surrounded by lamelliform process laterally; antennal segment III subdivided into two, segment IV into four secondary segments, therefore antenna 8-segmented; first visible labial segment at most two times as long as second visible segment; in macropterous morphs, anterior lobe of pronotum distinctly shorter but more than half as long as posterior lobe, in micropterous forms, anterior lobe longer than posterior lobe; scutellum strongly narrowed posteriad, with 1+1 closely situated lateral prongs apically.

Diversity and distribution. The genus currently contains 18 species, occurring in East and Southeast Asia. Two new species are described, another one is transferred to this genus, and three species are sunk into synonymy in the present paper, therefore the number of species within Haematoloecha will remain 18. Five species occur in Taiwan.

Note. Since only macropterous species were known so far, a revised diagnosis is provided above which allows recognition of macro- and micropterous morphs as well.
