Material examined. 2 ex. Maitian River , Yiliang County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China; 25.11°N, 103.39°E, February 2023 by Chong- Ye Li leg. GoogleMaps
Holotype. NNUH20241301 , shell height 11.47 mm, width 8.82 mm, height of the body whorl 9.41 mm.
Paratypes. 1 ex. NNUH20241302 , shell height 11.32 mm, width 6.81 mm, height of the body whorl 9.32 mm, locality and habitat same as holotype .
Locus typicus. Maitian River, Yiliang County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China; 25.11°N, 103.39°E.
Etymology. The specific name " yiliang " is derived from Yiliang County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China, the collection location of the specimen. We suggest the Chinese common name as " ffa华ĸ ".
Description. Shell small, thick, solid, oval shape, coffee; shell comprising five to six whorls, surface near smooth, growth lines obvious, with black-red stripes, without spiral ribs, body whorl swollen, taking up most of the shell about 67%. Apex eroded. Suture low. Aperture oval shape, lip thin, inner lip slightly thickened and smooth, white, outer lip white. Umbilicus absent.
Operculum. ( Fig. 2 B View Figure 2 ) Ovate, smaller than aperture, corneous, thin, brown, length 4.48 mm, width 3.19 mm, and the nucleus located at the bottom left about 1/4.
Radula. ( Fig. 3 B View Figure 3 ) Central teeth with triangle-shaped pointed major cusp, and 4–5 smaller cusps on each side. Lateral teeth with enlarged, pointed major cusp and two smaller cusps on inner side. The outer sider of lateral teeth with 5–7 smaller cusps. Inner marginal teeth with four and outer with six lattened, rounded denticles.
Anatomy. Snout, foot and tentacles grey. Snout broad, squarish, with long cephalic tentacles, tentacles roughly greater than snout in length.
Remarks. Lateral teeth have only two smaller cusps on inner side of H. yiliangensis sp. nov., which is a significant feature that distinguishes other Hua species. Hua yiliangensis sp. nov. is most similar to H. pallens (Bavay & Dautzenberg, 1910) and H. rotundata (Heude, 1890) , but can nevertheless be easily separated by the operculum nucleus located at about 1/4 (vs. located at the bottom left edge in H. pallens and H. rotundata ) and shell surface with black-red stripes. The new species can also be clearly distinguished from other Hua congeners by the following features: shell smooth (vs. shell sculptured in H. aristarchorum (Heude, 1889) and H. aubryana (Heude, 1889)) , outer marginal teeth with six flattened cusps (vs. more than or equal to eight flattened in H. qiannanensis ( Chen, Shi, Du & Sun, 2023) , H. vultuosa (Fulton, 1914) , H. kunmingensis ( Du, Köhler, Yu, Chen & Yang, 2019) , and H. liui ( Du, Köhler, Yu, Chen & Yang, 2019)) .
Habitat and distribution. This species was collected in Maitian River, Yiliang County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. The species inhabits rivers with a depth of less than 50 cm, slow water flow, and a substrate made of stones and sand.
