Distribution. Papua New Guinea (mainland). Solomon Islands (Guadalcanal).
Male lure. Cue-lure.
Host plants. No known hosts.
Notes. The Solomon Islands record of this species, otherwise known only from Papua New Guinea, is based on a single specimen collected in 1971 in Honiara (Guadalcanal).

Notes. This species is nearly identical to B. simulata ( Fig. 79 View Figure 79 ) in appearance ( Leblanc et al. 2021). It is however genetically distinct and distinguished by a subtle but consistent difference in the extent of wing infuscation ( Leblanc et al. 2021).
