Definition. Massive shallow cup shaped maroon brown lithistids that discolour ethanol into a purplish brown colour. Ectosomal megascleres are smooth ectosomal dichotriaenes , occasional triaenes, one to two types of large oxeas and dicranoclone desmas, microscleres are a combination of centrotylote microacanthoxeas, smooth microxeas, spirasters and streptasters (modified from Schlacher-Hoenlinger et al. 2005 and Carvalho et al. 2015).
