Chromosome set is 2n = 8. Chromosome AE is submetacentric, chromosomes CD and BF are metacentric, chromosome G—telocentric. Chromosome G has three BRs, however one of them is not always expressed. The two dark large bands, near to the telomere of chromosome G are markers of the species ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ). The NOR is near to the centromere region of the chromosome G. On this region the homologues are unpaired ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE 14 ). Chromosome variability of the species is expressed by two types of aberrations: inherited and somatic ( Michailova et al. 2009). These authors discussed the appearance of the specific puff at the telomere of chromosome G as a compensatory mechanism in response to environmental conditions. Thirty-five individuals were analyzed.
