(?) Porcellana parrai Guérin-Méneville 1855 : pl. 2, fig. 3.

Material examined. None.

Previous records from Panama. Gore (1970); Gore (1982).

Distribution. West Atlantic. USA (Florida), Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, E Less- er Antilles, Panama ( Panama Canal area, San Blas Is.), Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil from Pará to Rio de Janeiro (e.g. Gore 1974, 1982; Rodríguez et al. 2005; Lira et al. 2007; Ferreira & Melo 2016; Diez & Lira 2017; Ferreira 2019).

Ecology. Intertidal and (more common) subtidal, presently known depth range: 0–82 m; associated with sponges, e.g. loggerhead sponge, Spheciospongia vesparia (Lamarck) (Gore 1974) .

Remarks. Despite the fact that P. ackleianus is one of the most widespread species of the genus in the western Atlantic, there are only a few records of the species from Panama, with no recently collected material available to the authors. Living crabs are pale brown with whitish patches on the carapace and P1–P4, and a longitudinal dorsal white line on the carapace ( Werding 1977).
