Diagnosis. The new species resembles P. tsushimensis Yamaguchi, 1960 but can be distinguished by the number of black spots on abdomen is 14 (vs. 12 in P. tsushimensis ( Tanikawa, 2007, figs 54–55), and the width of the hood is much greater than the length (vs. the width and length of the hood are almost equal in P. tsushimensis ( Tanikawa, 2007, fig. 50)).
Description. Female (holotype, Fig. 6 View Figure 6 ). Total length 6.58. Carapace 2.52 long, 2.33 wide. Abdomen 6.25 long, 7.35 wide. Carapace pear shaped, dark brown. Chelicerae brown, 3 promarginal teeth, 2 retromarginal teeth. Endites and labium yellow-brown, endites almost square. Sternum brown with yellow margin. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.16, ALE 0.12, PME 0.12, PLE 0.10, AME–AME 0.20, AME–ALE 0.42, PME–PME 0.22, PME–PLE 0.48. Legs yellow-brown. Leg measurements: I 6.19 (2.21, 2.24, 1.17, 0.57), II 6.09 (2.15, 2.19, 1.23, 0.52), III 3.91 (1.42, 1.33, 0.67, 0.49), IV 5.65 (2.11, 2.11, 0.97, 0.46). Abdomen pale yellow, with 14 black spots, pair of middle spots largest. Spinnerets yellow-brown.
Epigyne ( Fig. 4 View Figure 4 ) about 1.5 times wider than long, with rimmed scape and hood, hood about 10 times wider than long. Copulatory opening concave, located posteriorly, close to base of scape; copulatory duct inconspicuous; spermathecae oval, almost touching each other.
Male. Unknown.
Material examined. Holotype ♀ (IZCAS-Ar43246), China: Hunan, Yueyang City, Pingjiang County, Fushoushan (28.4667°N, 113.7667°E), 15 July 2016, R. Jiang leg. GoogleMaps Paratype. 1♀ (IZCAS-Ar43247), China: Jiangxi, Pingxiang, Luxi County, Nankeng Township , Xinping Village , 19 June 2018, Y. Zhao leg.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality.
Etymology. The species name is a combination of " magnus " and " maculata ", because the spot on the middle of the abdomen of this species is larger than that of other species; adjective.
