DISTRIBUTION. — Worldwide, from the Indo-West Pacific, eastern Pacific, western and eastern Atlantic; 212-2505 m ( Galil 2000; this study); a new record for the Austral Islands.
REMARKS Lateral carapace spination of the present series, 8-9:3:13-15, is within the reported range ( Galil 2000; Ahyong & Brown 2002).

REMARKS The specimen agrees in most respects with published accounts of the species ( Rathbun 1906; Galil 2000).
