ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Cordilura tarsea Fallén, 1819 (as “ Cordylura Tarsea Fall. ”).
TYPE SPECIES: Cordilura tarsea Fallén, 1819 (as “ Cordylura Tarsea Fall. ”), by original designation.
CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Gorodkov (1986: 35) ].
FAMILY: SCATHOPHAGIDAE .
REMARKS: There are two original spellings of this genus-group name in Rondani (1866b): Gimnomera (pages 4, 21) and Gymnomera (page 51). Acting as First Reviser, Vockeroth in Huckett & Vockeroth (1965: 840) selected Gimnomera as the correct original spelling. Gorodkov (1986: 35) incorrectly cited the journal version ( Rondani 1867a: 88, 105) and “ Gymnomera ” as the original date and spelling for this genus.
