Rhinoleucophenga angustifrons Malogolowkin, 1946: 425  . Malogolowkin, 1946: 417 (key), 424 (figures 16-17); Roque & Tidon, 2008: 97 (probably a Leucophenga Mik  specimen).

Material examined: HOLOTYPE ♀ (dried and mounted specimen, deposited in CEIOC) labelled “ Rhinoleucophenga angustifrons  DET—Chana Malogolowkin Rio V-946 \ BRASIL JUSSARAL X- 934 L  . TRAV. ET LOPES \ Inst. Osw. Cruz n° 8.121 \ HOLOTYPUS. Left wing, right hindleg and terminalia were disarticulated and lost. 

Diagnosis. Body yellow. Front covered with ca. 40 scattered interfrontal setulae. Frontal index 2.83. Carina nose-like and ca. 50% sulcated. One pair of prescutellar acrostichal setae. Hyaline wings. Abdominal tergites with brown stripes interrupted medially. Body length ca. 2.50 mm.

Description. Head ( Fig. 1View FIGURE 1 c). Front homogeneously yellowish, covered with ca. 40 scattered interfrontal setulae; ocellar triangle yellow with brown ocelli. Carina nose-like and ca. 50% sulcated. Face and gena yellowish; antenna with flagellomore and pedicel homogeneously brownish; arista with 7 long dorsal branches and 6 long ventral branches. Palpus yellowish with ca. 15 setae on lower part.

Thorax ( Fig. 9View FIGURE 9 a, b). Scutum and scutellum homogeneously yellow. Ten irregular rows of acrostichal setulae. One pair of prescutellar acrostichal setae. Pleura brownish; halteres yellowish. Legs homogeneously yellow.

Wings ( Fig. 1View FIGURE 1 e). Hyaline, without spots.

Abdomen ( Fig. 1View FIGURE 1 d). Tergites II and III yellowish and tergites IV and V brownish; with brown stripes interrupted medially.

Terminalia unknown.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality (State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

Note. Rhinoleucophenga angustifrons  recorded by Roque & Tidon (2008) was analyzed and it is not a Rhinoleucophenga  species, probably a Leucophenga Mik  specimen.
