Pujoliclerus amplus Opitz , new species ( Figs. 28 , 57 , 100 , 124 )

Holotype. ♀. C O L O M B I A: C a u c a P N N Gorgona El Saman 258N 7811W, 11-XII-2001 - 18-I-2002 H Torres Leg M 2791. Second label: IavH 70311. Third label: Instituto Humboldt COLOMBIA ( IAVH).

Paratypes. Two specimens. One specimen from the same locality as the holotype ( WOPC, 1). COLOMBIA: Cauca: Valle del Cauca, PNN Parallones de Cali 730 m, 3°26′N 76°48′W. A second label reads: Malaise 7/18/00-8/1/00, S. Sarria, leg. M.1101 ( IAVH, 1) .

Diagnosis. This species is distinguishable from superficially similar P. orellana by the dark brown coloration of the elytral apex.

Description. Size: Length 5.5 mm; width 2.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 100 . Integument: Head mostly yellow, epicranium with rectangular black marking, lower frons yellow; antenna black; pronotum bicolorous, anterior angles yellow, remainder black; elytra light brown, epipleural and sutural margins and apex more yellow; legs mostly yellow, infuscated; pterothorax and abdomen brown. Head: Eyes slightly wider than frons (13:10); funicular antennomeres very expanded, 6 th antennomere very large ( Fig. 28 ). Thorax: Pronotum quadrate (37:37), lateral tubercle prominent ( Fig. 57 ); epipleural fold gradually narrowed to elytral apex, asetiferous punctures prominent to elytral half. Abdomen: Aedeagus not available.

Variation. The paratype collected in PNN Gorgona has the elytra more yellowish.

Natural History. The holotype and a paratype were collected during a time span between 11 December 2001 and 18 January 2002; the second paratype was taken during July.

Distribution. Known only from Colombia ( Fig. 124 ).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from ampla (= large), a Latin adjective that refers to the large size of antennomere 8.
