Chiloschista lunifera (Rchb.f.) J.J.Sm., Orch. Java: 553, 1905

Basionym : Thrixspermum luniferum Rchb. f., Gard. Chron. 1868: 786, 1868. Type :— MYANMAR. Without locality: comm. & imp. Veitch s.n. (holotype: W-R 41550 ) .

Homotypic synonyms: Sarcochilus lunifer (Rchb.f.) Hook.f., Bot. Mag. 115: t. 7044, 1889 [= Chiloschista parishii Seidenf. ]. Chiloschista indica J.J.Sm., Bull. Jard. Bot. Buitenzorg , sér. 2, 9: 101, 1913.

Specimens examined:— KACHIN. Myitkyina District: 1525 m, 5 May 1938, Kermode 17308 ( AMES, K), ident. uncertain; Bhamo District : 610 m, 15 Mar 1914, Forrest 12326 ( E), ident. uncertain. WITHOUT LOCALITY. Type; without collector s.n. ( W-R 41549 , left hand sketch). Reported from Mandalay Region, Mon State and Tanintharyi Region by Kress et al. (2003: 69), but we have not seen material from these areas.

Distribution:— Myanmar, Thailand and Indochina.

Note:— Citation for the combination Sarcochilus lunifer is given above. However, the plate and description indicated in this new combination are of C. parishii .

Distribution:— The Himalayas, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand and Laos.
