IPSEA Lindl. View in CoL , Gen . Sp. Orchid. Pl.: 124, 1831
Ipsea thailandica Seidenf., Contr. Orchid Fl. Thailand 13: 14, 1997. Type:—WITHOUT ORIGIN (probably Myanmar, Kayin State). Thaithong 1289 (holotype: C)
Homotypic synonym: Ancistrochilus thailandicus (Seidenf.) Szlach. & Marg., Polish Bot. J. 46: 113, 2001.
Specimen examined:— WITHOUT LOCALITY (probably Kayin State) . Type.
Distribution:—?Southern Myanmar and? Thailand.
Note:— This species was described from plants bought at a Bangkok market and was originally thought to occur in northeastern Thailand. However , this was subsequently doubted as plants of the same species were also offered for sale in markets on the Myanmar-Thai border (Mae Sot and Three Pagoda Pass). They were said to have come from the mountains in Myanmar’s Kayin State near the Thai border ( P. Suksathan, pers. comm.) .
