GENUS THYMOPIDES BURUKOVSKY & AVERIN, 1977 View in CoL

Remarks: Prior to 2003, the genus Thymopide s contained a single species, Thymopides grobovi , known from relatively deep (525–1220 m) waters in the southern Indian Ocean and Kerguelen Islands and Heard Island near Antarctica ( Holthuis, 1991). The second known species of the genus was described from near a North Atlantic hydrothermal vent site (below).

Burukovsky RN, Averin, BS. 1977. Replacement name, Thymopides, proposed for preoccupied generic name Bellator (Decapoda, Nephropidae). Crustaceana 32 (2): 216 - 216.
