Type material examined. Holotype male ( MRAC 188.234), 6 male, 6 female and 1 tritonymph paratypes ( MRAC 188.234-188.236) from Clytospiza monteiri (Hartlaub) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ), CAMEROON: Centre region, Yaounde, 3°52'N, 11°31'E, December 1955, coll. J. Mouchet.

Non-type material examined. 1 male ( MRAC 152.973) from Euschistospiza dybowskii (Oustalet) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ), CAMEROON: Centre region, Yaounde, 3°52'N, 11°31'E, December 1955, coll. J. Mouchet; 1 male (188.238) from Spermestes bicolor (Fraser) ( Passeriformes : Estrildidae ), CAMEROON: no other data; 1 female ( MRAC 188.237) from same host, CAMEROON: no other data.

Hosts and distribution. This species was recorded from Clytospiza monteiri (type host) and Euschistospiza dybowskii in Cameroon ( Gaud 1968). Records of one male and female from Spermestes bicolor in the same region represent ecological contaminations ( Gaud 1968).
