Type material. One female type (= holotype) designated by Friese (1901) ( ZMHUB, Berlin).

Diagnosis. Female. Medium to large sized species. Glossa shorter than face length; the galea weakly sclerotized. Pilosity golden yellow. Terga with apical margin, paler than proximal parts of terga, yellow. Male. Medium ­ large species. Cuticle blackish­reddish; paler, yellowish on the tergal apical margins. Cuticle smooth, very sparsely punctured and strongly shiny. Head large. Labral lamella apically lightly indented. Pilosity yellowishwhite. Gonostylus long and narrow, without apical process. Volsella differentiated, large and bud­like.

Females. Head: Face shorter than wide (l/w = 11/13). Cuticle roughly punctured. Punctures wide, cuticle between pits smooth and shiny. Labral lamella about as long than wide. Glossa pointed but shorter than face length. Galea weakly sclerotized. Antenna with terminal part red­orange beyond first flagellar segment under side. Head pilosity golden yellow. Mesosoma: Pronotum smooth, finely and densely punctured on dorsal posterior margin. Mesonotum finely and regularly punctured; cuticle between pits shiny. Mesopleura weak and sparsely punctured, shiny. Propodeum also weakly punctured and strongly shiny. Thoracic pilosity yellow, long and sparse. Legs reddish­black with yellow pilosity. Wings clear, veins brownish. Metasoma: Terga black, distal margins yellowish. Terga with proximal parts lightly sculptured and sparsely punctured, shiny. Sterna more strongly punctured than terga. Anal fringe and terga laterally with pilosity golden yellow.

Males. Head: Face shorter than wide (l/w = 5.5/6.5­7.5). Cuticle sparsely punctured, clypeal punctuation rougher and denser. Labral lamella briefly round indented at the apex. Mouthparts as in females. Antenna, orange on ventral side beyond first flagellar segment. Head pilosity clear whitish­yellowish. Mesosoma. Pronotum smooth and shiny, punctuation weak and sparse. Mesonotum, like pronotum, smooth, shiny, finely and very sparsely punctured; punctuation denser on anterior third of mesonotum. Mesopleura black, smooth and shiny, roughly punctured. Scutellum and metanotum sculptured like mesonotum. Propodeum smooth and shiny, almost not sculptured. Thoracic pilosity weak and sparse, yellowish­white. Legs dark, brownish­black; terminal parts a bit lighter. Legs pilosity pale. Wings clear, veins brownish­yellow. Metasoma. Terga with proximal parts black, roughly sculptured. Tergal apical depressions yellowish, unpunctured. Terga and sterna with weak white­yellowish pilosity along metasoma laterally. St6 undifferentiated. St7 with a short angular indentation at apex. St8 simple and large. Genital structures ( Fig. 2 ).

Gonocoxite simple, mat, densely sculptured; apex truncated. Gonostylus narrow, blade shaped and apically tapered without process or notable pilosity. Penis valve blade shaped, dorsal side very narrow. Volsella differentiated, large and bud shaped.
