Transvenosus signuma ( Li & Webb, 1996) View in CoL , n. comb. ( Figs 9–17 View FIGURES 9 – 17 )

Cunedda signuma Li & Webb, 1996: 25 View in CoL [n. sp.]

Description. Body length (including forewing): ♂, 7.0– 7.2 mm. Coloration ( Figs 9–11 View FIGURES 9 – 17 ) predominantly brown with offwhite markings, markings symmetrical but somewhat variable among specimens in size and tint. Face predominantly brown with black markings. Crown mostly dark brown, with six small irregular spots. Pronotum pale yellow-brown, median and lateral area each with a black brown longitudinal band, posterior margin dark brown. Mesonotum and scutellum lateral margin off-white, two basal corners and median area dark brown. Forewing with white to pale yellow semi-opaque markings, veins white.

Male pygofer ( Figs 12, 13 View FIGURES 9 – 17 ) with lateral lobe pointed outwardly, with numerous small setae. Aedeagus ( Figs 15, 16 View FIGURES 9 – 17 ) ventral process in lateral view approximately circular-arc-shaped, apex notched in dorsal and ventral view. Other characteristics as shown in Figs 9–17 View FIGURES 9 – 17 .

Material. THAILAND: 4♂♂, Chiang Mai Doi Phahompok NP Kiewiom 1: montane forest, 20º3.455'N 99º8.55'E, 2174 m, malaise trap, 7–14.x.2007, Komwuan Srisom & Prasit Wongchai, T2815; 2♂♂, Chiang Mai Doi Phahompok NP Doi Phaluang, 20º1.06'N 99º9.581'E, 1449 m, malaise trap, 20–27.vii.2007, Prasit Wongchai, T2928.

Remarks. The crown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 9 – 17 ) of this species is strongly concave between the longitudinal carinae, which may be the reason Li & Webb placed it in the genus Cunedda Distant, 1918 , but the male pygofer ( Figs 12, 13 View FIGURES 9 – 17 ) has a slender ventral process, which is absent in Cunedda . The holotype of Cunedda signuma was collected from Chiang Mai, the same location of the examined specimens.
