Having studied the holotype of Anthaxia decimata and the syntype of A. egena I failed to find any substantial differences and I propose that A. decimata Théry, 1947 to be conspecific with A. egena Kerremans, 1913 and a junior synonym.

According to the illustration in the description ( Théry, 1947) in this case I also erroneously treated this species in the subgenus Cratomerus ( Bílý, 1997) .

Distribution. Democratic Republic of Congo, southern Ethiopia, Guinea, southern Kenya (Rift Valley Province), Malawi, Mozambique, Republic of the Congo, Republic of South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda (for more detailed distribution see Bílý & Kubáň, 2010).
