Distribution and habitat: — Brazil (Minas Gerais). Campo rupestre and margins of secondary forest; 1300–1850 m.
Taxonomic Notes: — An unfrequently collected species. Besides the key, differences with Chronopappus lanatus are discussed under that species. Semir (1991) argued that the type material was probably collected by J. Velloso de Miranda, but the holotype label only bears Candolle’s handwriting .
