Distribution and habitat: — Brazil (northeastern Minas Gerais, endemic of Grão-Mogol region). Campo rupestre; 650–1000 m.
Taxonomic notes: —An endemic species that is relatively common locally. It is easily distinguished from Anteremanthus piranii Roque & Santana (2014: 656) by its silvery-green leaves (vs. dark green), ovate subinvolucral bracts (vs. linear), number of florets (20–30 vs. 45–60).
