Arenaria dichotoma Moench View in CoL
When Moench (1794: 223) published Arenaria dichotoma he provided a description, the provenance (“ in agris Wetteraviae prope Fetzberg et Weilmünster ”), and cited two synonyms, one each from Linnaeus (1753: 424, “ Arenaria tenuifolia L. ”), and a second from Vaillant (1727: 7, “ Alsine tenuifolia, Vaillant. Bot. Icon. Tab. 3. Fig. 1 ”). As a result, A. dichotoma was superfluous when published and not legitimate under the Arts. 52.1 and 52.2 of the ICN ( McNeill et al. 2012).
