Ourapteryx concava Cheng & Han , sp. nov. ( Figs 12 View Figures 1–15 , 32 View Figures 28–35 , 47 View Figures 45–52 )

Description. Head. Antennae filiform in both sexes, blackish brown on dorsal surface. Frons pale yellow mixed with white centrally. Labial palpus pale yellow, suffused with blackish brown scales on dorsal surface of second segment. Vertex pale yellow.

Thorax. Patagia pale yellow suffused with white scales and tegulae white. Thorax white on dorsal side and pale yellow on ventral side. Legs white with blackish brown patches, hind tibia dilated in male, both sexes with two pairs of spurs. Forewing length: male 16–21 mm; female 21–23 mm. Forewing with outer margin straight, hind wing with a small tail, rounded apically. Wings yellowish white to white, densely covered with greyish brown spots. Forewing with antemedial and postmedial lines oblique, very narrow, discontinuous or indistinct, greyish brown, former very close to wing base and slightly nearer to latter on anal margin than on costa; discal spot linear, distinct and greyish brown; terminal line and fringe dark greyish brown mixed with white near apex and anal angle. Hind wing with discal spot and postmedial line indistinct; tail with three black spots near base, anterior very small and dash-like, sometimes invisible, remaining rounded and tinged pale yellowish brown cloud inside; terminal line and fringe dark greyish brown below M 3, excepting tip of tail, remaining white. Underside with transverse lines of hind wing more distinct than those on upperside. Forewing with R 1 and R 2 long-stalked.

Abdomen. Abdomen white covered with dark greyish brown patches, with setal comb on third sternite.

Male genitalia. Uncus narrow and long, basal width about one half of length. Socii small and membranous. Gnathos ring-like with indistinct median process. Valva simple, rounded apically; costa straight. Furca developed on right side, strongly incurved at apical one fourth, dilated with a row of thorns terminally, reaching base of uncus; Saccus very short. Aedeagus narrow; vesica with a long sclerotized plate densely covered with numerous short cornuti, all of similar size (easily lost during dissection).

Female genitalia. Lamella postvaginalis large and semicircle, with posterior margin concaved centrally; lamella antevaginalis with anterior margin irregular. Colliculum short. Ductus bursae short, weakly sclerotized with longitudinal ribs, about two thirds length of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae long, elliptic, bearing a signum posteriorly; signum large and rounded with marginal short spines, disc small and rounded.

Diagnosis. The species is very similar to O. adonidaria Oberthür, 1911 ( Figs 13 View Figures 1–15 , 33 View Figures 28–35 ), and the difference lies in that: the streaks are usually smaller and denser; the antemedial and postmedial lines of the wings are often incomplete; the furca is less deeply curved than that of O. adonidaria .

Etymology. The specific name is from the Latin word concavus (=concaved), referring to the concaved posterior margin of the lamella postvaginalis of the female genitalia.
