Ourapteryx incurvata Cheng & Jiang , sp. nov. ( Figs 11 View Figures 1–15 , 31 View Figures 28–35 , 46 View Figures 45–52 )

Description. Head. Antennae filiform in both sexes, black mixed with white at basal nine segment dorsally. Frons dark yellowish brown. Labial palpus dark brown. Vertex white, suffused with sparse pale yellow scales.

Thorax. Patagia white, suffused with pale yellow on lateral side. Tegulae and dorsal side of thorax white. Ventral side of thorax white diffused with pale yellow hair-like scales. Legs white with sparse black spots, fore- and median femora suffused with pale yellow, black patches present between femora and tibia of fore- and median legs, hind tibia dilated in male, with hair-pencil, both sexes with two pairs of spurs. Forewing length: male 27–30 mm; female 34–35 mm. Forewing outer margin almost straight. Hind wing with a small tail, rounded at tip, shoulder prominent. Wings white. Forewing with short black streaks on costal area between antemedial and postmedial lines and towards base; antemedial and postmedial lines straight, oblique and pale grey, former nearer to latter on anal margin than on costa; discal spot linear and grey; pale grey striation present at submarginal area; terminal line black, invisible near apex and anal angle; fringes mostly yellowish brown, white near apex and anal angle. Hind wing with discal spot indistinct; medial line straight, pale grey, not extending to costa and anal margin; pale grey striation densely present near submarginal area; terminal line black, invisible near shoulder and tip of tail and anal angle; fringes mostly reddish brown, white near shoulder and tip of tail and anal angle; tail with two spots at base, not connected by a grey band, anterior large, dark red, surrounded with black scales, posterior represented by a black dash. Underside white, transverse lines faintly indicated. Forewing with R 1 and R 2 coincident, anastomosing partly with Sc.

Abdomen. Abdomen white with setal comb on third sternite.

Male genitalia. Uncus stout with acute apex. Socii small and membranous. Gnathos with median process semicircle. Valva simple, rounded apically; costa straight but very weakly swollen medially. Furca developed on right side, strongly incurved in a right angle at terminal one-fourth, slightly broad apically, terminating with a dense row of thorns, reaching slightly beyond median process of gnathos. Saccus rounded and very short. Aedeagus cylindrical; vesica with a long sclerotized plate densely covered with numerous short cornuti, all of similar size.

Female genitalia. Lamella postvaginalis and lamella antevaginalis almost semicircle and crinkled, latter short, about half length of former. Colliculum present. Ductus bursae with longitudinal ribs, weakly sclerotized on right side, about equal length of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae globular, bearing a signum centrally; signum large, oval or rounded with marginal spines (longer on anterior margin), disc large, frill narrow on posterior margin.

Diagnosis. The species can be distinguished by the dark yellowish brown frons, the special shape of the furca, the narrow aedeagus, and the large signum of the female genitalia.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word incurvata , which means curved. This refers to the incurved furca of the male genitalia.
