Ourapteryx arcuata Jiang & Cheng , sp. nov. ( Figs 4 View Figures 1–15 , 25 View Figures 20–27 , 42 View Figures 36–44 )

Description. Head. Antennae filiform in both sexes, black diffused with white at basal eight to ten segments dorsally. Frons and labial palpus dark brown. Vertex white suffused with yellow scales.

Thorax. Patagia white suffused with yellow scales. Tegulae yellowish white to white. Dorsal side of thorax white. Ventral side of thorax white suffused with sparsely pale yellow. Legs white, black patches present between femora and tibia of fore- and median legs, hind tibia dilated in male, with hair-pencil, both sexes with two pairs of spurs. Forewing length: male 27–30 mm; female 29–31 mm. Forewing with outer margin almost straight. Hind wing with a moderately long tail, acute at tip, shoulder prominent. Wings yellowish white to white. Forewing with short black streaks on basal half of costal area; antemedial and postmedial lines straight, greyish brown and oblique, former nearer to latter on anal margin than on costa; discal spot linear and greyish brown; pale grey striation present near submarginal area; terminal line black, invisible near apex and anal angle; fringes mostly yellowish brown, white near apex and anal angle. Hind wing with discal spot indistinct; medial line straight, greyish brown, not extending to costa and anal margin; pale greyish brown striation densely present at submarginal area; terminal line black, invisible near shoulder and tip of tail and anal angle; fringes mostly reddish brown, lighter near shoulder and tip of tail and anal angle; tail with two spots at base, connected by a grey band, anterior large, dark red, surrounded with black scales, posterior black dash-like. Underside yellowish white, transverse lines faintly indicated. Forewing with R 1 and R 2 coincident.

Abdomen. Abdomen white with setal comb on third sternite.

Male genitalia. Uncus stout with acute apex, basal length about three-fourths of length. Socii small and membranous. Gnathos with median process broad and short, rounded apically. Valva simple, rounded apically; costa straight. Furca developed on right side, gently incurved at apical one-fourth, rounded and slightly broadened at apex, terminating with a dense row of thorns, reaching base of uncus. Saccus semicircle and very short. Aedeagus cylindrical; vesica with a sclerotized plate densely covered with numerous short cornuti, all of similar size.

Female genitalia. Lamella postvaginalis and lamella antevaginalis almost semicircle, latter shorter and crinkled, about half length of former. Colliculum present. Ductus bursae with longitudinal ribs and sclerotized at anterior two thirds, about one and a half times length of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae globular, bearing a signum centrally; signum oval with very short marginal spines, disc oval or rounded.

Diagnosis. On the wing pattern, the species is almost identical to O. pallistrigaria Stüning, 1994 ( Fig. 5 View Figures 1–15 ) and O. cawarongensis Cheng & Jiang , sp. nov., but the tail of the hind wing is shorter and the posterior spot is invisible in O. cawarongensis Cheng & Jiang , sp. nov. The male genitalia of the species have a distinctive furca, which is only gently incurved at apical one-fourth. The diagnosis by female genitalia see O. cawarongensis Cheng & Jiang , sp. nov.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word arcuatus, which means arched. This refers to the arched furca of the male genitalia.
