Type host: Columba livia Gmelin ( Columbiformes : Columbidae ). Type locality: Afganistan.

This species was unavaiable for the present study and its diagnosis is provided based on the original description ( Kivganov & Sharafat 1995).

NON-PHYSOGASTRIC FEMALE. Total body length 815–830. Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex rounded without protuberances. Peritremes V-shaped, each medial branch with 2–4 chambers, each lateral branch with 12– 14 chambers, borders between these chambers clearly visible. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield divided longitudinally into 2 lateral shields, bearing bases of setae ve, ve, si and se. Propodonotal setae vi, ve and si beaded. Length ratio of setae vi: ve: si 1:3:4. Setae c1 and se located at same transverse level. Setae d1 situated slightly closer to e2 than to d2. Setae f2 1.4 times longer than f1. Setae h1 7 times longer than f1. Setae h2 1.5 times longer than h1. Alveoles of setae 3a–3a not coalesced. Aggenital setae ag1 situated anteriorly to level of setae ag2. Setae g1 long and hair-like. Legs. Most of dorsal setae of legs I and II weakly ornamented. Antaxial and paraxial members of claws pair III and IV unequal in size. Setae tc”III–IV slightly longer than tc’ III–IV. Setae 3c about 5 times longer than 3b. Coxal fields I–IV well developed, apunctate. Lengths of setae: vi 52–53, ve 145–165, si 187–250, se 213–

350, c1 345–350, c2 288–316, d1 235–240, d2 260–265, e2 163–213, f1 54–60, f2 70–93, h1 350–400, h2 525– 550.

MALE. Unknown.

Type material (not examined). Columba livia ( Columbiformes : Columbidae ) [nest]: female holotype and 3 female paratypes ( OCU –G–N–18), AFGANISTAN, Kabul, 10–20 September 1991, coll. G.S. Sharafat.

Type material deposition. All type material is deposited in the OCU and was unavaiable for this study.

Host range and habitat. Monoxenous species inhabiting body quill feathers of Columba livia .
