Remarks. This species, recorded originally off Viet Nam (Shiino, 1963), has been found previously to be common off Brunei and Sabah (Bamber, 1999; Bamber & Sheader, 2005), and in the former case it was the commonest tanaidacean in waters of around 60 m depth, and ranked third in numerical dominance of all the species in the benthic macroinfaunal community. The present records again confirm that it is occasional in shallower waters off Brunei (although here no shallower than 20 m depth), but a regular member of the benthic community in deeper waters, now down to 90 m depth.
