Eccritotarsus discifer Stål, 1860: 57 (orig. descrip.).

Parafurius discifer: Carvalho and China, 1951 : 692 (n. comb.).

Diagnosis. Body oval, with red, orange, and yellow markings. Head and anterior area of pronotum yellow. Pronotal disc with a large, oval, red area. Scutellum with apex and lateral margins red. Hemelytra pale yellow; clavus red with basal spot orange; corium with a broad, transverse, reddish-brown stripe extending from apical third of embolium to claval commissure. Length 3.80–4.65 mm.

Host. Coffee, Coffea arabica Beth. [ Rubiaceae ] ( Ferreira et al., 2001). Two specimens from Trinidad taken on Smilax sp. [ Smilacaceae ].

Distribution. Argentina, Brazil (Amazonas, Goias, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro), Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela (Carvalho, 1957); Suriname ( Carvalho and Rosas, 1965); Puerto Rico ( Maldonado, 1969); Peru ( Carvalho and Ferreira, 1972); Costa Rica ( Carvalho and Afonso, 1977).
