Southwest Atlantic: ex. 1013405, 5/397, [59°41’S 56°06’W], 2269 m.

Remarks: This is a very small species (about 3 mm or less), previously known only from the unique type, from the North Pacific, off the Alaskan Peninsular (53°20’N 155°16’W), from a depth of 700– 900 m. It is most likely a deep-water species preferring colder waters. The specimen recorded here seems to be this species and is thus recorded as a new record for the Antarctic Zone of the Southwest Atlantic Sector. Another two small specimens, referable to Cheloscina , were also found in the Antarctic Zone, just west of the Drake Passage by the Eltanin.
