Klimenko leg. ( MR) .
Remarks: Very similar to Ophion turcomanicus but with more numerous and stouter flagellomeres (58‒63), the pleurosternal angles are right-angled or slightly acute while they are distinctly obtuse in O. turcomanicus . The anterior transverse carina is usually strongly defined, but can sometimes be reduced and only present centrally. The posterior transverse carina is indicated laterally, widely interrupted centrally. Longitudinal carinae virtually absent. The interpretation presented here is based on two specimens, including the type female, stored in ZIN. In the original description Kokujev (1906) distinguished Ophion eremita from his species O. asiaticus (= turcomanicus Szépligeti ) by the colour pattern of scutellum and the petiole, the shallower groove between clypeus and the face and the thicker radial vein. All of which are variable characters in Ophion .
