Remarks: The type of Enicospilus stenopsis Kohl was collected in Repetek in present day Turkmenistan. The first record from Iran seems to be referred to by Hedwig (1957) as E. variegatus Szépligeti. The species has been recently recorded from Iran by Barhoei et al (2012), but we have not been able to find any specimen in the material examined in this study. Enicospilus stenopsis is distinguished from similar pale marked species by the weakly sclerotised proximal sclerite ( Fig. 8E View FIGURE 8 ), the very narrow temples and in having the tarsal claws with only a few teeth ( Fig. 8A–F View FIGURE 8 ). The pictures of the single type male of Enicospilus splendidus Rousse, Soliman & Gadallah, 2017 syn. nov. show that this is a male specimen of E. stenopsis and the two species are synonymous.
