Enicospilus kokujevi Viktorov, 1957 View in CoL ?

Figs 6A–D View FIGURE 6

Enicospilus kokujevi Viktorov, 1957: 200 View in CoL , Figs 39–41. Lectotype ♂ from Turkmenistan in MSU, not examined.

Material examined: IRAN: 2♀♀, Khuzestan Province, Hakim Farabi Industries., 48˚33"N, 31˚00"E, 2019, Reared from Mythimna unipuncta (Haworth, 1809) in sugarcane, A. Cheraghi leg. ( NJ) .

DNA Barcode: The DNA barcode sequence of one specimen of Enicospilus kokujevi is available at the BOLD systems database: sample id. NJP681, sequence id. LNU2517-21.

Remarks: The single barcode clusters in BOLD with a series of Japanese Enicospilus determined as E. laqueatus (Enderlein, 1921) . However, the here treated species differs morphologically from E. laqueatus in several characters, such as the shape of the central sclerite ( Fig. 6D View FIGURE 6 ) and the length of the malar space ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ). Either the molecular sampling is insufficient to characterize and differentiate the species involved or E. laqueatus is a more highly variable species than previously presumed, possibly indicating synonymy between E. kokujevi and E. laqueatus . It shall be noted that we have not been able to get access to the type of E. kokujevi due to the Covid 19 restrictions of the MSU and the here presented interpretation is based on the orginal description ( Viktorov 1957) alone.
