This species was originally described from Pakistan, off Tamarix aphylla (Tamaricaceae) from Kalabagh and off T. indica from Gharo ( Williams, 1984), but has not been recorded since. However, E. tamariscus has now been collected on Tamarix sp. in Systan and Baluchestan Provinces in Iran, in galls apparently made by another insect (PPDRI).
