Range:— Peru to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC); southeastern Brazil to eastern Paraguay and northeastern Argentina.
Ecology:— Local and uncommon; on and among rocks along streams and near waterfalls, in humid forest habitats; to 1900 m.
Notes:— Unless fertile leaves are seen, this may be mistaken for juvenile, sterile individuals of other species of Blechnum .
