Range:— Known with certainty only from Peru (Huánuco, Asplund 12887, S) and Bolivia (CO, LP); somewhat similar specimens are known from Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Cuba.

Ecology:— Locally fairly common; terrestrial on humid forest margins, scrub, and pastures; 2200–3500 m.
