Neoblechnum Gasper & V.A.O.Dittrich, Phytotaxa View in CoL 275(3): 214. 2016.
Neoblechnum View in CoL comprises a single species in the Neotropics. The genus is characterized by monomorphic leaves, serrulate pinnae, erect rhizomes, needle-like, curved, often sharply bicolorous rhizome scales having a blackish mid-stripe, and many pairs of very gradually reduced proximal pinnae; x = 33. Closest relationships are still unclear, but the genus appears to be sister to a large clade of Australasian genera, including Diploblechnum View in CoL , Doodia View in CoL , Parablechnum View in CoL , and Oceaniopteris ( Gasper et al. 2017) View in CoL .
