Stasina lucasi Bryant, 1940: 400 View in CoL , plate 13, figs 179, 182 (Male holotype from Cuba, Sierre del Cobre [20°00’ N, 76°05’W], 3−7 July 1936, P.J. Darlington leg., deposited in MCZ 21891, examined; female allotype from south side Cuba, Guantanamo, Pico Turquino [20°08’N, 76°46’W], June 1936, P.J. Diagnosis. Males of N. lucasi (Bryant) comb. nov. resemble those of N. ouali sp. nov. ( Fig. 124 View FIGURES 123 − 128 ) in the eRTA represented by a strong spine-like apophysis ( Fig. 90 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ). They are distinguished from this species by the presence of a tegular protrusion (absent in N. ouali sp. nov.) and TBE single (bifid in N. ouali sp. nov.) ( Figs 90, 92 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ). Females are distinguished from the other species of the genus by the median septum with deep transversal groove posteriorly and posterior margin medially rounded ( Fig. 93 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ) and by the spermathecae with an antero-laterad loop before anterior twist ( Figs 94−95 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ).
Description. Male (MCZ 21891, holotype): Prosoma pale orange, slightly darker at eye area and along thoracic striae, with thin brown lines extending posteriorly from PME, along lateral margins of cephalic region and thoracic striae. Fovea dark brown. Eye borders black. Chelicerae pale orange with faint brown longitudinal stripe. Legs and pedipalps yellow. Sternum pale yellow with darker margins. Endites pale yellow. Labium pale orange, distally pale yellow. Opisthosoma cream colored; dorsally with gray pattern of irregular marks; ventrally with scattered gray spots. Total length 6.1. Prosoma: 3.1 long, 2.6 wide. Opisthosoma: 2.9 long, 2.1 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.18, 0.18, 0.12, 018; interdistances: 0.16, 0.06, 0.28, 0.20, 0.14, 0.06. Legs (2143): I: 11.9 (3.2, 1.6, 3.3, 3.0, 0.8); II: 12.2 (3.5, 1.5, 3.3, 3.1, 0.8); III: 9.3 (3.0, 1.2, 2.2, 2.2, 0.7); IV: 11.5 (3.5, 1.2, 2.5, 3.3, 0.9). Palp: VTA small, situated medially; dRTA triangular in retrolateral view; vRTA two times longer than wide, slightly shorter than dRTA, blunt at tip; tegular protrusion arising from tegulum at 5:30 o´clock position; median apophysis arising from tegulum at 3 o’clock position; conductor distally widened; TBC large rounded in ventral view; embolus filiform, arising from tegulum at 8 o’clock position; TBE with dorsal groove, flanked by long keel, to accommodate the embolus ( Figs 89−92 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ).
Female (MCZ 26451, allotype): Coloration pattern as in male but darker. Total length 8.9. Prosoma: 3.9 long, 3.5 wide. Opisthosoma: 5.0 long, 3.1 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.20, 0.20, 0.14, 0.20; interdistances: 0.16, 0.10, 0.36, 0.30, 0.18, 0.08. Legs (21/43): I: 11.5 (3.3, 1.8, 3.1, 2.6, 0.7); II: 11.9 (3.5, 2.0, 2.9, 2.7, 0.8); III: 9.5 (3.0, 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, 0.6); IV: 11.5 (3.5, 1.5, 2.6, 3.1, 0.8). Epigyne: epigynal field as wide as long; anterior rim continuous, recurved; median septum almost two times wider than long ( Fig. 93 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ). Vulva: glandular projections elongate, 1.5 times longer than wide ( Figs 94−95 View FIGURES 89 − 95 ).
Variation. Females (n = 5): total length 6.1−8.9; prosoma length 2.9−3.2; femur I length 2.6−3.3. Distribution. Known from Pico Turquino and Sierre del Cobre, Cuba (Map 3).
